hee hee hee

It's 11pm and I am squiffulent. hee hee. We went to see Cian (pronounced shawn, if you've forgotten) and Mindy play dodgeball tonight and went with them to the dodgeball bar afterwards. I had more beer than I usually do. Hee. Cian and I had a heated debate on philosophy, psychology, and the scientific method, and my clothes now smell like cigarette smoke. In the end, Cian and I realised that we basically agreed and that our "differences" were mostly in terminology. I got to use a lot of big words and, I think, held my own pretty well considering the beer. Actually, it was great. I haven't had that kind of impassioned, abstract conversation for a long time and I think I held my own against an actual Philosophy major. (He has a Bachelor's degree -- in philosophy!)

Man, I gotta wahs all our clothes -- they stnk! Bleh! But I pe3rsonally did okay with the smoke, which makes me hopeful for our next trip to Europe. Hee.

Cian and Mindy's team did well. The first time I saw them, they whupped ass, so tonight I thought they were off their game, until I found out they were playing the best fuckin' team in the league, AND gave 'em a run for their money -- they only lost 6-4. Mindy's so fun to watch, 'cause she gets so intense and moves around like a sniper in a guerilla ambush. he3e.

So i was very productive today. I fasted over 12 hours and was able to get my lab blood draw done before the gym, then did sweating and then came home and worked. I was able to get the Geisha cover first draft off. Go me! ^_^ I be productive kitty. I've even been working on my own art. Yay!

Okay, I've finished my milk and cookeis, literally, so I should go to bed now. My elf boy was very sweet and didn't remind me of the time until 10:30, so I could stay and drink beer and shout philosophy over the babble of the crowd. Not that he was hurting, with Mindy as a conversational partner. ;-)

So I go. I am happy. I have had a good week so far, which is muchly happy-making, because frankly depression sucks diseased donkey dongs. hee. To bed!

Oh, first cat pan....then to bed!

^_^

Had a good day yesterday. I wasn't remarkably productive, but I felt...content. After getting off the computer, I finished up my "1963" comics on the couch. Ezri came up and sat on me for a while and purred madly, and I just felt so good.

In the afternoon I played with a demo of Art Master, not so much because I was really thinking of buying it, but because I was curious. Also, playing with 3rd party plugins often gives me ideas about how to get similar results using Photoshop. (As I suspected, it's not something I want to buy, but it was a relaxing way to spend my time).

I eventually got to the gym, too. It was one of those days when you just seem to have to work harder, but I got through and felt very nice after stretching and a shower. Dinner makings and then more Art Master until dinner.

We had tacos and watched "Dodge Ball." Holy shit. That was nuts! It's not the kind of movie I usually watch, but I did enjoy it. Vince Vaughn was perfect as Peter -- so laid back, so nice, but needing a swift kick in the motivation. And Ben Stiller? Gods and monsters! An inflatible codpiece! Howl!!! He was so gross! (And you know, I never thought of him as short, but he is, isn't he?) Rip Torn! Bwah-hah-hah-hah! Luck of the Irish! [spits milk out her nose] Okay, some of the "humour" I could have lived without, but it was just such a funny, painful, bizarre little piece of surreal comedy that I couldn't help having a good time.

Ah! Aleta's called. Time to get ready for the Day with Dylan (godchild). Ciao!

Genki desu!

Yesterday was good! Regular energy throughout the day, and I got things done. Gasp!

What I did:
- went to the gym (natürlich)
- did two loads of laundry
- picked up Ezri food and dog treats
- did grocery shopping -- with the wagon, no less (I must look like a bag lady or something)
- actually DID start working on the minutes! Whoo hoo!
- walked the dog before Elf got home

That's all I can remember, though I think there was more...

Today is Saturday, and I have to go walk the dog. Then the day is mine, to waste as I choose! Yeeeeeee-hah!

MUCH GOOD NEWS!!!

yay!
First: IT'S A BOY!!!

Gemms and Richard have finally seen a good ultrasound, and it's a boy! Go here for her lovely entry about it.

Second: ALETA'S OLD HOUSE FINALLY CLOSED!

Jeeziz, after thirteen goddamn months, 5-6 failed sales, developer interference, boundary re-asignments, and incompetent surveyors. IT'S GONE!

Good!

Contrary to the tenor of the Shakespeare meme (which leapt immediately to mind because I heard the vocal setting of (most of) that text from Hair in my head), I'm doing quite well today.

I got up at 6:30, had bread with peanut butter, half an apple, and half a glass of milk for lunch, then hauled ass to the gym. Had to go down to 8 again, darn it, and my pulse got too high, but I didn't feel completely exhausted afterwards.

Tristan is eating again! Yay!

So I've just gotten through with my e-mail and will go up and shower off the sweat-n-grime, then actually get some stuff done! Holy shit -- alert the media! Got a lot of calls to make, probably clean up around this sty, get food, etc. Good.

Haven't found my keys, though, dammit, so it's a new lockset for us. Must call post office, too, to have them change our mailbox key. Yay. ^_^;;

Hope everyone is having a good day, that my Texas friends are avoiding Rita, and that you're all settling comfortably into the Dark Half of the year. Blessings!

Well, well, well. It's amazing what a naproxen and a nap will do for a girl. Okay, the naproxen had already dulled the cramps, but, boy howdy, that nap just perked me right up. I mean, I literally bounced out of bed! I've got enough energy to capitalise the beginnings of my sentences again. I feel like actually do some work with Eismann's Photoshop book, instead of wearily shambling though the Internet like an undead fangirl geek.

Ooh! Ooh! And guess what? I got prezzies today! Hee hee hee!

First, Photoshop CS2 came this morning. Squeal! I can't wait till it's installed and I can get my grubby little mits on it. [cackles evilly while rubbing her hands in a disturbing fashion]

Then, in the early afternoon, someone knocks at the door. Since it's a knock, I figure it's either a neighbour or someone selling something door to door (what part of "no soliciting" do you morons not understand?). In case it's a neighbour, I yell "I'm coming" while pounding down the stairs. When I get there, though, there's no one at the door -- no one but a large box from Farberware.

Yay! The Millennium Ware is back! They said 4-6 weeks, but I don't think it's been that long. And they didn't just resurface the old pots -- they gave us a brand new set. Okay, so the sets have changed in the last 10 years -- we got 2 saucepans and a steamer basket instead of three saucepans -- but I'm not complaining. Especially since this set is much nicer than the stuff we originally bought. Yay!

Okay, enough babbling, babe! Back to keeping your professional skills honed to an atom's width edge!

(hee hee hee)

What's up?

Hmm, I realise I haven't been posting much. Dunno why.

Things are actually pretty okay. Tristan still makes me sad sometimes, but other than that, I'm good. I finished the Amber Lotus stuff yesterday (except for burning a CD of my work). They want me to bring it back next Tuesday, so they could have another project ready for me! Sqeeee! I worked 7 hours, so I have a few bucks now (or will when I get the check). ^__^

I've been going to the gym every week day for the last month, except, of course, when we were in Colorado (but we did do a lot of walking). I'm not sure it's getting any easier, per se, but I'm finding it's not really that tough to get myself there. I'm just being more, um, organised, if you can believe it. It helps that I need to get to the gym before 10am so I can avoid the 11:30 switch to Stupid, Repetitious Dance Music. >;-)

I've also found that it's a lot easier for me, now, to regulate how much I eat at any one sitting. The Wellbutrin put my appetite off for a while, and, though it's pretty much back to normal, I've found I don't get as greedy as I used to. It's relatively easy to have only one cookie rather than three. I'm not snacking in the afternoons, and I just don't need the portions I used to (or used to think I needed). I am very carefully NOT "dieting," because that always makes me crazy and I end up going on a binge eventually. I have to make sure I'm not denying myself anything. I'm not counting calories or anything. I'm just being more aware.

No, clothes aren't any looser. Maybe they won't ever be. The point is that I'm going to stay healthy and not keep gaining until I'm unhealthy. So there. ^_^;

Oh! Elf and I finished the bookshelves! Well, he did 90% of everything: measuring, cutting, building, sanding, staining. I just helped with the initial design and the final coats of polycrylic. MAN, do they look good! Wow! They're in the dining room now, booked all up, looking handsome and smug. Heeeeeee!!

Next week (starting tomorrow, actually), Elf's away at SIGGRAPH at last (after several years hiatus)! He's so psyched! Doug will be coming to visit. I expect we will watch many videos.

Okay, I must get fruit for a fruit salad to take to Matt and Dawn's. Take back bottles. Exchange shampoo. Have cramps, no doubt. (Already I have walked the dog -- and he did walk! Fifteen minutes! -- and done some gardening out front. Bells, I'm just a fount of energy today!) Beautiful day, all!

Friday! ^_^

Got up before seven. Feel pretty good, except for trying to adjust to my new graduated lens prescription. ;-P

Got lots done yesterday, including four loads of laundry and meeting the fabulous [info]cheesepuppet for girly things (hair cuts and shopping) at Streets of Tanasbourne (what a name -- pretentious dorks ^_^;). She finally got her hair really chopped -- and is it CUTE! I think it looks so good on her. She was nervous about it, but everyone is falling all over it, so I think she'll be okay. ;-)

Dog went for a pretty normal walk last night, though I did have to tug him at first. Sigh. He makes me so sad; I can't help but look at him and wonder, "how long?"

Today I have to clean the house for the AMAZING ALL-GRRL SLUMBER PARTY! Wheee!! Folksies are coming Saturday for a day and night of games, snacks, chat, wine, and general debauchery (well, within reason -- I invited Sue's daughter, Kendra, who's only 15). This will be trés fun! *jumps up and down with gleeeeee*

Of to the gym, AGAIN! I'm finding it not as difficult as I thought to go every weekday. Hope I can keep it up. I'd love to ramp up my metabolism -- think of all the evil good I can do with the extra energy!

I'll just leave you all with this thought: SQUEEEEE!

Yesterday was fun!

Pippin - fool of a took
Happy Anniversary to us! Sixteen years!

Fun day for Kitties and Elves )

This morning I woke a bit before 5:00am to pee, and, knowing I was going to have to get up soon, couldn't go back to sleep. Huh. So up, coffee and toast, and we were on the road at 6:00. Elf all safely dropped off, and I managed to get home safely, too, though I'm pretty wiped. I've walked the dog (oh, and he didn't eat brekkies. Of course not. Elf's gone, so he has to develop new and alarming symptoms!), but it didn't really wake me up much. So I'm not driving back to Portland for Dharma Rain. I'll probably sleep after this. Matt has invited me to the Father's Day dinner with his Dad-in-Law, so I want to be awake for that. ^_^;

Happy Father's Day!! to all men who deserve the name, whether they've sired biological offspring or not! ^__^

Better indeed!

Today IS better! (For those of you not on the depression filter, yesterday was shit.) I'm not actually filled with buttloads of cute, genki, kitty energy, but I find myself smiling without thinking about it, and I feel GOOD. A bit sleepy, but good. SQUEE!

So far, I've been to the gym, walked the dog, and paid the garbage and mortgage. ^_____^ The gym was unusually difficult today, but I toughed it out and did my usual workout. Such a good kitty!

My Sims are being stupid -- my university students aren't bringing home their homework. Need to find out why that is, 'cause it makes it harder to get good grades if they don't do the assignments, but they can't do them if they don't have them, can they? ;-)

I might take a little happy nap, but most of the rest of this afternoon, I must work on Father's Day cards, for Daddy and Beast. Yay! Creative stuff!

By the way, a big ol' hug to [info]necromimesis for being such a sweetie! *smeck*

Doing well. Kinda drunk now, but it's Saturday night. I'm making a "rock & roll roadtrip" rhapsody playlist. It will rock and roll all the way to uranus and back, I tell you.

I made that depression filter (thanx to the folks who responded -- I LUV you!), but luckily I haven't had to use it yet! Sooooooo glad of that! ^_____^

We had a massive consumer shopping experience today (including *gasp* Fry's), and although I became a bit pithed by the end of it, I did not become a zombie! Wow! Happy happy joy joy.

I wonder if I can cute Elf into walking the dog by himself so I don't have to go out again? Hee.

I wish I lived nearer more friends. I really wanted to go out drinking tonight. I tried Mindy yesterday, but she had a prior commmittment. Sigh. I'm almost afraid to ask Hollie, Earth Mother Supreme, to do something as frivolous as bar-hopping. Yes, you may dope-slap me Hollie!

Feeeeeeeeeeeeck. Oh, shit. Blue Oyster Cult!!! GODZILLA!!!!! I love this song. BOC are sooooooo bizarre and amusing.

Sigh. I wish I were 25 again. Sometimes. Not often, but sometimes. (well, okay -- i wish my BODY were 25 all the time, but not the rest of it)

Oh, no, there goes Tokyo,
go, go, Godzilla!

These people also wrote a song about Joan Crawford rising from the grave. You gotta love it.

Feeeeeeeckulence. Blah. Going. Not being fun here. Doug is in NY. Elf is going to Boston for a fuckin' WEEK next fortnight. Blah. I think I should have a sleepover while he's gone. Anybody wanna come? (Girls only.)

Gonna get more wine and fire up the Sims. I'm pathetic, but I'm enjoying it.

Bweeeeep!

Hell on a biscuit! I am not only in an okay mood, I'm in a GOOD fuckin' mood! Yee ha!

I wanna go out drinking with Meli, whom, I might add, I have never met. Or go coffee-house hopping with James, or go drinking with Gemms. Or...go out clubbing with someone! Anyone! Who says white-haired 40-somethings can't dance?

Aw shit. No luck here. Nope. It's Tuesday night and I'm gonna stay here in HELLSboro and play the Sims. Oh well. ^____^

I have emptied my open bottle of wine with this one glass. Elf says I should open another: "Should enjoy the good moods when they're here." Oh, fuckin A'...

But maybe not. I'll play the Sims. That's fun. Then we'll go investigate the dead mechanic on the roof of Morgan Everett's house. (I TOLD him we should investigate that! But noooooo! So he looks online and finds out that if we don't, Jock will blow up. I TOLD him! Hah!)

Gods, I love good moods. Reminds me why life is good. ^_____^

Love ya! ♥

A bit, anyway. ^_^ I think I'll be able to get to the gym, which is really important, considering the meal we had last night. *burp*

Well, considering, I actually was pretty productive yesterday. I got a load of laundry done, washed plastic bags and ran the dishwasher, walked to the store and took in the plastic recycling, did the home recycling, and (barely) started work on the shades. Yeah, there was a nap in there, but I woke up feeling better than the morning, which was apathetic and slow.

So I was fairly genki when Elf came home. He was feeling better, too, so we went out to PF Chang's, which we'd not yet tried. It was quite good! The steamed chicken dumplings were great and the entrees were quite tasty as well. And with some extra veggies, we'll have dinner again tonight. ^_^ I tried a "Forbidden City Iced Tea" -- their version of a Long Island Iced Tea -- and it was okay. They put chai tea syrup in it, so there was in interesting hint of cardamom. It was a bit too sweet, though. For desert we had banana spring rolls with coconut ice cream. Yummy! It was all so filling that I couldn't finish my Tsing Tao or even my fortune cookie. *big burp*

I walked the dog when we got home (after Ebert and Roper), then we got JC out of UNATCO and sped off to Hong Kong. Must finish a mini-quest before we can get to Tracer Tong. Our killswitch is 12 hours out.

Well, it's only 8:14, and I'm pretty awake, so I think the gym is a pretty good bet. And pretty necessary. ^_^; Also on today's list is vacuuming, looking at Doug's scans, and the shades. Those are the important things, anyway.

Good day, all. =^_^=
